In addition to the big Spring Bonus from Marriott, you can instead earn miles for flights on several airlines which include United and Delta (full list here).  I would only recommend choosing this option over the Spring Bonus if you plan on staying several times with Marriott–if you stayed 25 times you’d have enough points required for two domestic coach tickets or one business class ticket (50,000 miles) or a single flight to Hawaii or the Caribbean.

How does it work?  Register in advance.  Stay between now and April 30th and you will earn 2000 bonus miles for each stay, beginning with your second stay.  The maximum you can earn is 50,000 miles.  Is it worth it?  That’s really for you to decide.  The value of a frequent flier mile is anywhere from $.01 to $.015 (depending on the price of the flight that you are redeeming).  On that scale, 2,000 miles would be worth $20-$30.  If you stay 25 times and max out at 50,000 miles then it may be worth it.  If you are only staying 4-5 times, I’d take advantage of the Spring Bonus for free nights.  Those nights are in category 1-4 Marriott properties which typically run from $89-$149.
